Esta es una película sobre Maicol y Bryan, dos amigos inseparables que viven en Greytown, un pequeño pueblo sobre el Caribe nicaragüense aislado del resto del país por una densa selva y un peligroso mar. El final de su infancia se acerca, este verano deben comenzar a trabajar. Pero el pueblo no les ofrece muchas opciones, cada vez hay menos pescadores de tiburones y muchos de ellos se han convertido en narcotraficantes.Maicol y Bryan deambulan explorando el mundo que los rodea buscando su propio camino. Ahí están el mar, la selva y tal vez alguna chica. Pero también hay un equipo de filmación con una cámara. Así, nace una película.
Alejo Hoijman was born in 1972 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He started his career as a young boy with director Fernando Pino Solanas, working as a runner and editing assistant. Since then he has directed two documentary features and several TV documentaries for the most important channels in his country. As an editor he has been part of fiction films, documentaries and tv series.
His first film, Dinero hecho en casa, received the support of the Jan Vrijman Fund. He was invited to international festivals including IDFA First Feature Films, Silverdocs (Washington) and Documenta Madrid Official competition.
His second film, Unidad 25, received the Best Film Award at BAFICI and Best Latin-American Film Award at Guadalajara IFF. The film was supported by Jan Vrijman Fund, Programa Ibermedia, MEDIA, INCAA, and BAFICI, among others.
El Ojo del Tiburón, a documentary film shoot entirely in Nicaragua, received innumerable international awards, and has positioned Alejo as one of the most interesting directors of his generation.
