Pornomelancolía

FIFIB awarded the Grand Prize to PORNOMELANCOLÍA by Manuel Abramovich in the competition for Best International Feature Film. Proud to share FIFIB's Jury Statement— "We have seen this week several striking and powerful films, but there is one that transported us— by the strength of its story, the beauty and precision of its direction and the authenticity of its main actor, whose deep and dark look marked our hearts. A drama that immerses us in the daily life of a lone man, who needs love and who seeks his place in a society of utility and performance. A man whose body is objectified, but who becomes the subject of this political film. Sex, video and Zapata. Unanimously, we decided to award the grand prize to PORNOMELANCOLIA by Manuel Abramovich."

Lalo is a sex-influencer: he posts photos of his naked body and homemade porn videos for his thousands of followers on social networks.
Lalo directs his own life, but in private, out of character, he seems to live in permanent melancholy.
Where does desire itself go when life turns into a sex show?
Pornomelancholia takes pornography as a starting point to reflect on the relationship between sexuality and work, on being public and feeling alone, on the characters that we build to show ourselves (or hide) from the world.
