NENAS

A massive building with high walls topped with barbed wire. El Gore, as the girls call it, is a juvenile detention center in San Miguel de Tucumán, home to forty teenage girls.

Blurring the lines between reality and fiction, the girls become both authors and characters in a creative process that intertwines their daily lives inside the center with a dreamlike journey through the Tucumán yungas, in search of a friend who escaped over the rooftops.

Photographer, producer, and filmmaker, she has worked for over a decade on projects that combine art and social commitment. She led photography workshops for children and adolescents living on the streets, an experience that led to the book Another Gaze: Buenos Aires Photographed by Street Children (2006), with a foreword by Eduardo Galeano. She directed the documentary Street Years (2013), which follows the lives of four children over 15 years and received multiple awards at various festivals, as well as the series From the Streets (2012) for Canal Encuentro, awarded Best Documentary Series by Nuevas Miradas en la Televisión. Her most recent project, Nenas, was awarded a Creation Grant from the National Fund for the Arts in 2019.

At Gema Films, she has produced works by renowned directors such as Theatre of War by Lola Arias, Soldier by Manuel Abramovich, and Private Fiction and 327 Notebooks by Andrés Di Tella, among others. She studied Film and TV at the University of Buenos Aires, where she currently teaches with a focus on documentary cinema, and trained in theater, photography, and anthropology at institutions such as FLACSO, ICP, NYU, and with renowned mentors like Mary Ellen Mark and Adriana Lestido. She has participated in various audiovisual creation labs and mentors documentary projects. She is a member of the Argentine Documentary Film Association (ADN).
