Guadalajara announced its competitions. El Ojo del Tiburón is included in the Iberoamerican Competition. It is the second time Alejo Hoijman participates of this festival. In 2009 his film UNIDAD 25 received the Mayahuel to Best Documentary. 
In 2012 Gema Films also received the Mayahuel to Best Documentary for Victor Kossakovsky’s ¡Vivan las Antípodas!
