REAS

The second documentary by Lola Arias received the award for Best Documentary at the Luxembourg Film Festival. REAS stars cis women and trans people who were detained in various prisons in Argentina. In the old Caseros prison, people who were deprived of their liberty for years reconstruct scenes from their past lives and imagine their future lives in the form of a musical where they sing, dance, and act themselves. The documentary jury was composed of Fanny Barrot, co-delegate general in Clermont-Ferrand; Laure Bonville, programmer of the BFI London Film Festival; Alejandro Díaz Castaño, artistic director of the Gijón International Film Festival; Franck Finance-Madureira, president of Queer Palm; and Valeria Wagner, programmer of the Zurich Film Festival.
